I am an athlete. I am a proud father of four daughters and one son, and I compete in endurance races and Ironman triathlons.
I currently hold two world records in the 70.3 and 140.6 distance triathlons, and am still not satisfied. In 2012 I tackled and destroyed the previous world record for most Ironmans done in a year by completing 30 races, winning two titles, and placing 2nd in 5 others. Throughout 2012 my body grew surprisingly stronger and my mind more determined as I travelled through 11 countries and completed all 30 events.
After all this I knew I was capable of a greater and more grueling challenge. So, what’s next for me? The seemingly -impossible:
50 Ironmans, 50 consecutive days through all 50 states.
I want to test the true limits of my mind and body, and I want the people in the United States and around the world to join me and my family as we race across the country.

    Two-time Guinness World Record Holder
"The most Ironman 70.3 races completed in one year was 22 by James Lawrence (USA) of Lindon, Utah, USA, between 27 March and 13 November 2010."
Lawrence concluded his record by participating in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. An Ironman 70.3 is classified as a "half-Ironman." Participants must complete a 1.93 km (1.2 mi) swim, 90.12 km (56 mi) cycle, and 21.08 km (13.1 mi) run. Lawrence's best time for any of the races was 4 hr 39 min 24 sec in his 11th race.

"The most Ironman races completed in one year is 30 and was achieved by James Lawrence (USA) between 1 January and 31 December 2012."
James began his attempt on 8 January 2012 by running the HITS Naples 2012 race in Naples, Florida, and ran his thirtieth and final Ironman race of the year at the 2012 HITS Championship in Palm Springs, California, on 2 December 2012. He ran the majority of the races in his native USA, running 20 different Ironman races across the country. However, also ran two races in Canada and one each in Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and Mexico. This is James' second Guinness World Records title, having set the record for 'Most Ironman 70.3 races completed in a year' in 2010.

Flag Each state has a unique course that will commence in an open water venue with an indoor pool back-up option in case of inclement weather. The swim will be followed up by a 112 mile bike, and will conclude with a 26.2 marathon run. We are encouraging people to come out in a big way and register to participate in any portion of The Cowboy’s day—particularly the final 5K of the marathon which will end at a health food venue selected by locals. All proceeds from race entries will go to charity.
Medaille We will have our film documentary crew following James and his family in the motor home capturing the excitement, drama, successes, and highs and lows of their 50 day quest to bring awareness to a nationwide obesity epidemic. In addition to the documentary we will have local media present at each finish line to further enhance your brand’s visibility.

This is the first generation where we as parents are slated to outlive our children, and as a father of five this really hits home. Obesity is a far too common, serious, and costly plague. Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer; some of the leading causes of preventable death. More than one-third (34.9% or 78.6 million) of U.S. adults are obese, and the estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the U.S. was $147 billion US dollars in 2008.
Additionally, the medical costs associated with the obese were $1,429 higher than those of normal weight. I want people to join me in the 50 day challenge and set the ultimate example to their children.

Consider the marketing exposure you will receive through our print and digital efforts both internally and via our national/local media partnerships. You will get weeks of pre-event exposure to your target audience as well both during and after the event. A documentary will be filmed to capture James’ every step of the way, as well as a webisode crew providing real time coverage via YouTube and Vimeo for the world to follow. This will allow for continuous brand integration and exposure long after the event has been completed.
    Exceptional Content/Unique Opportunity/History
If you google “world’s hardest/most extreme sporting event” it’s likely that you will find the Ironman distance triathlon listed under the number 1 spot. James is going to do 50 in a row. Given the extremity and the “never been done before” factor of the event the content produced will be especially distinct and will draw upon a large, worldwide audience. This audience will be able to witness in real-time the trials and triumphs James goes through to complete the hardest sporting event in history. Sponsors will be able to share this spot in history, accredited for producing such a feat.
